If you have purchased a copy of The Legal Writing Handbook or one of the books in the “Just” series, for example, Just Writing, Just Memos, or Just Briefs, your professor may ask you to take the Diagnostic Exam that is on this website.   To access that website, click on the following link.

If you have purchased a copy of The Legal Writing Handbook, you have free access an Electronic Supplement that walks you through the process of researching different types of legal issues using Westlaw,WestlawNext, LexisNexis, and free sources. To access those materials, go to the list that is on the left-hand side of this page, click on the link to “Electronic Supplements,” and enter your access code, which is on the card in the front of your copy of The Legal Writing Handbook, Sixth Edition. (You can save your access code so that you do not need to re-enter it each time that you sign on.) Next, select “The Legal Writing Handbook, 6e,” and then the section or sections that you want to read. 

If you have purchased a copy of Just Research, you also have free access to an Electronic Supplement. To access those materials, go to the list that is on the left-hand side of this page, click on the link to “Electronic Supplements,” and enter your access code, which is on the card in the front of your copy of Just Research, Fourth Edition. (You can save your access code so that you do not need to re-enter it each time that you sign on.) Next, select “Just Research, 4e” and then the section or sections that you want to read.
