Richard K. Neumann, Jr.
Richard Neumann has been involved with Legal Writing since his first year of teaching in 1975. He has taught at Hofstra Law School since 1978. In addition to Legal Writing, he has also taught Transactional Lawyering (contract drafting and negotiation); Legal Interviewing, Counseling & Negotiation; Civil Procedure; Pretrial Litigation; Federal Courts; Trial Techniques; and clinical courses.
Professor Neumann is the author of Legal Reasoning and Legal Writing: Structure, Strategy, and Style as well as Legal Writing with Sheila Simon and Essential Lawyering Skills with Stefan Krieger. Professor Neumann is also a co-author of the first edition of the ABA Sourcebook on Legal Writing Programs.
